Perfect Bokeh Photography

The definition of the word “bokeh” in photography refers to the aesthetic quality of the blur produced in the out of focusportions of an image.

As a documentary photojournalist, my work is more than a shutter click and a single image. My images tell a complete story, bringing into focus not just what we see front and center, but the nuance and detail of what’s in the background, or even out of frame. The emotion, the description and the metaphor captured in my images, when viewed as a whole, will make an impression.

My documentary photography is a reflection of my passion for person, subject and place, whether it be aging, youth, the arts, American politics, the streets of Boston or the cobblestones of Sicily.

I have honed my storytelling abilities over a decades-long career in communications, a background that has enhanced my awareness and abilities as a professional photographer. I’ve successfully conceived, designed, and executed numerous large-scale projects. As a credentialed state and national journalist, I bring experience, trust and credibility to all my work.

Whether it takes one day, five months or three years to document a story, the concept is the same. I’m interested in places with a fascinating history, projects with a social mission, and people whose agendas just might change the world.
